- L’épigraphie n’est pas tout à fait la même au droit et au revers, signe probable d’un boullotèrion recomposé. Le droit offre des caractères plus allongés, une ligature ου dont les empattements sont résolument horizontaux et un monogramme dont le Θ présente une barre horizontale décalée vers le haut, tous signes que nous quittons le VIIIe siècle pour entrer dans le suivant

Commentary
La reconstruction du commandement repose sur le fait qu’il n’existe à l’époque que trois commandements exigeant un article masculin/neutre : l’Opsikion, le Péloponnèse et Dyrrachion. Or, seule la dernière solution s’accorde avec les traces de lettres observables sur la dernière ligne. La lecture ne peut être tenue pour parfaitement assurée, mais si elle s’avérait juste Léon serait très probablement l’un des tout premiers titulaires de ce commandement adriatique [1].
